BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Wearables to help and save patients

It's just amazing how technology can help us!!!! Now when you go jogging you will probably have some kind of gadget on you to know how much you have run, how many calories you have burnt, your heart rate... and so on. By the end of the week certain apps report you how much exercise you have done and what you should do.

Well, now, stroke patients (can you define what a stroke patient is?) can carry some wearable tech which will give vital data to the doctor.

Some interesting articles for you to read:

Let's revise verbs that are followed by an -ING form or by an infinitive: Exercise to do (British Council)

What's the difference between these two sentences?
1. Sometimes people are stopped for speeding.
2. Sometimes people are stopped by speeding.

FASHION OR SCIENCE: Wearable tech

A stroke patient is a patient who has suffered a sudden change in the blood supply to a part of the brain, sometimes causing a loss of the ability to move particular parts of the body. (Example: "He suffered a stroke that left him unable to speak for a while")

  1. In today's world, technology is improving our lifestyle, helping us to care for our health, our bad habits, our diet, our exercise habits,... This post shows a new technological inventions that you can wear on your body called wearables.

To start with, I'd say that these types of wearables have been on the market for years, however, they have been doing them more and more sophisticated. Between the big range of wearables, clocks are the most common. These clocks give you much information about your body, for instance: how much you have run, how many calories you have burnt, your heart rate...This data can be very useful for a diabetic person or for a person who has other deseases.

Nevertheless, wearables not are only clocks, there are many more things such a: glasses that follow your route, trainers that count your steps or your own mobile phone. There are apps that are focus on this. Some people who has a disease install this type of app and then, they carry it to their doctor who will make a prognosis. Moreover, there are some clothes that benefit your health, some people wear trousers that improve their blood flow or t-shirts made of a special material for the same purpose...

From my point of view, these inventions are a new way of care for ourselves, they can prevent heart attacks or things like this.

    What is a stroke patient?

A stroke patient is a person whose blood supply to a part of the brain is suddenly cut off. The brain cells need a constant supply of oxygen from the blood. Soon after the blood supply is cut off, the cells in the affected area of brain become damaged or die.

  2. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry and it is helping us to make a lot of advance. Today I’m going to talk about three technological advances.

Firstly, I´m going to write about a watch that tells you how many kilometres me have been running and how we have burnt. I think that this is very useful to people that like doing sport specially for athletes because they than know how their body are working.

Another is a closet what is control with a tablet. This is very useful, comfortable and quickly because the only thing that you need to do is select what you want to wear and a machine will give you the clothes. You can save a lot of time with this!

Finally, I want to write about technology in medicine. Technology has made a lot of advance in medicine because it can you the illness that a patient has and what we can do, so they can avoid heart problems and things like that. Technology make a lot of thing more quick and safe.

In my opinion I think that technology has change our world and we are making our life easier.

These are caused by reduced blood flow to the brain when blood vessels become too narrow for blood to get through. Because of this, brain cells in the area die from lack of oxygen.Stroke patients often have weakness on one side of the body or other problems. They can prevent problems with some wearable tech, like watches that tell you hoh many kilometers you have run, how many calories you have burnt or tell ou your heart rate. 7. The technology is in progress and many scientists are studying in get better the healthy with it. So the technology and the health are related. Nowadays we have many technological devices that it helps us to do anything easier, so it is has many advantages but, it also has disadvantages when it used in a wrong way .

Today, we have the clothing designed to save your life. That incredible clothing has needed many time, money and tests for create it. OMsignal manufactures a range of smart exercise clothing with biometric sensors that measure performance and gives you an electrocardiogram (ECG) reading. The data is collected by a separate device, which communicates with an app on a smartphone, which then connects with the cloud where it can be analysed by a series of complex algorithms.

Other incredible invention is wearable tech aids stroke patients. This technology to put sensors on the body to assess which muscle groups work or not can really pinpoint the areas affected by the stroke and can target therapies to specifically improve those issues. The sensors continue to send back readings even after she has finished her exercises.

I think that this kind of inventions change the life to many people because it is help to them. It is causes that the people life many time with a better health. The technology is a revolution in the science and heath.

  8. Nowadays there are wearables which are electronic objects which look like a clock which cans be like a smartphone, but can do more things and it has different functionality. For example it can say to us how many spets we do in all the day, or what is our cardic ritmic.

It is so good because, if we investigate more a developed new wearables with more funcionalities, we can use for more things like help old people if they are in troubles or helping people who has an illness. For example a person with Alzheimer who have to take a medication, the wearables can remember to him, with a vibration or other signal.

The wearables have a time when it were bought a lot, in 2009 but nowadays almost nobody buy a wearable because the function that it has, can be do it by the new smartphones. For example my mobile phone can say to me how many steps I did in all day.

  11. Actually, it is just amazing how technology can help us, for example with wearable technology. What is it? It is clothing designed to save our lives. In fact, scientists in the USA are developing wearable sensors to speed up the recovery of stroke patients.

Firstly, these types of sensors are able to send information to doctors continuously. As well, the team developing the system says it could allow therapists to more closely monitor the effectiveness of their care. In addition, people can be more aware about their life style.

On the contrary, a lot of people think that wearable technology is just for people who love their Fitbits and Apple Watches. But wearable technology isn’t just for consumers; it can improve the quality of care for patients too, as we have read.

Summing up, I think that people are more and more grateful with current technology as it has improved our lives in different ways. Personally, I had an accident when I was younger and I had to be operated. I wore two titanium screws in my left ankle for six months. Since then, I can walk as I did before.

  12. A stroke happens when the blood flow to a part of the brain stops. Sometimes, it is called "stroke". If the blood flow stops for more than a few seconds, the brain can not receive nutrients and oxygen. Brain cells can die, causing permanent damage, to avoid a stroke eat less salt and eat fruits and vegetables to increase potassium in a diet. Do more exercise. This is caused by the blockage or rupture of an artery in the brain. ... It is usually accompanied by arteriosclerosis and hypertension, and can be prevented

  14. Nowadays the technologies are very surprising and they help us to live better, so it is the case that there are watches able to take your pulse and even realize when something happens to you, this was a few years ago it was impossible to think until what point the technology would go, but has Today is a reality.

Not only do they have advanced technologies in these watches if they really have advanced operations now they can operate things that were previously impossible to imagine, now fewer and fewer people die and that really is very good.

In addition to medical uses, technology has invented a virtual reality in which only by putting a pair of glasses you can see a world completely created through the computer, this can make us travel to very different worlds from ours.

In conclusion, technology advances at very fast speeds, diseases that before seemed incurable nowadays are nothing, we can control our pulsations with a phone or watch or even play at being gods of a world created on a computer

  15. Health is a very important thing that you must take care of. One reason is because you can do things with less effort and you can avoid health problems like strokes. I know a lot of people who have died because of a health problem. One of the ways not to have health problems is not smoking, eating healthy things or doing sport. I keep myself healthydoing sport, and I love it, it´s a way to have fun and to keep yourself healthy. You must also eat fruit every day, bananas are my favourite! So remember, to take care of yourself and follow my instructions.

  16. Today new technologies are very present in everyday life, it is rare not to see someone with a smarphone or tablet anywhere. Well now imagine them fully integrated into your body. With these devices we have access to a lot of tools for leisure, work and communication. We have incorporated in the same device the email, the phone, instant messaging services, camera and even MP3 player, GPS …
The wearable technology consists of carrying all these options in clothes or accessories such as watches or necklaces, it is like a type of computer that goes with us. In these devices are being developed sensors that control the amount of glucose of a patient with diabetes in such a way that an electronic dispenser automatically injects the amount of insulin needed, this same sensor would take relevant data about the patient's health and send it via Internet to computers, tablets or devices of medical equipment.
One advantage of wearables is that we do not have to carry them in our hands or pocket, but they come directly with us, and offer us a lot of utilities.
Another advantage of this type of device is that in addition to offering us information about our activity, they also interact with us. If for example we exercise, in addition to showing our pulsations, it will let us know if our pace is too high. Another example is that when we use our mobile devices as GPS, because thanks to wearables it will not be necessary to look at the map that shows the screen, but light vibrations will inform us where we have to turn. It seems to me a very interesting and useful invention.

  17. Nowadays, technology improves our lives in different habits such as our health or even to learn more through the Internet.

In the first place, these watches give a lot of information about your body such as the distance you have run, the pulse, or the calories you lose, something very useful to be aware of your health when you go out to play sports.

On the other hand, in addition to these watches there is another material such as the glasses of this same brand. Some sick people use them to carry a kind of report to their doctor and themselves.

In my opinion, these technological improvements are a great help to keep us alert and carry out good health.

  19. Wearable medical technology is opening such a wide range of ways in the healthcare field. These wearables are changing not only how we take care of our health but also how we live and work. What's more, scientists have already reacted their challenge, which was to pack a lot of electronics into a small flexible material.

For a start, wearable tech is used both by consumers and by patients. It has already helped to improve some people lifestyle. For instance, Lizzy McAninch, who had a stroke two years ago and wasn't able neither to speak nor to move, is testing out wearable sensors that might speed her recovery.

How will be the future of healthcare? Lots of new innovative wearable devices and clothing will be introduced. Doctors will be likely not to get the numbers wrong and will prevent some diseases as diabetes giving people motivation and reinforcement. Furthermore, providing these gadgets are extremely accurate, they won't have mistakes.

To sum up, it is claimed that this technology will save the NHS money as well as enable patients to stay in their own home for longer and help doctors identify and react to problems more quickly. Apart from that, I'd like to point out that according to the UK National Health Service, the best way to help prevent a stroke is to eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and avoid smoking and drinking too much alcohol.

  21. Fortunately, the technologies of the images are taking a radical turn for the better. Leading the way, a Pillcam ("camera-pill"), a single-use, disposable micro camera that can be used as a vitamin pill. This camera can take high quality video images as it can move through the body, reaching parts of the digestive system that even the most flexible, cable chambers, never record, without causing discomfort and humiliation.

In many ways we are talking about medical technology 2.0. The shift towards disposable, portable and wireless promises a giant leap in terms of patient experience and also the results available to medical professionals. This brief introduction discusses how technology works and what represents radical hope for the patients and doctors who need this.

  22. The technology has advanced a lot since before it was unthinkable that a watch told you the steps you have to take or the calories you burn every day or even these watches also help you with your slaud, since it measures your heart rate and even warns you when your body is bad or something is happening to him.

Apart from the advanced technology of these watches they have also changed a lot the technology for example in the medical advances that are being made in the last years and the advances in computers, televisions etc.

I think that this watch is very practical since I use it and it is very useful for me. Since I usually practice sports and it is very useful every time I go running or play football. One of the watches that I would recommend is the MI Band 2 of Xaomi which is one of the companies that is producing many watches of this type and they are very good.

  23. Nowadays, thanks to technology we can live with more comfort. But that's not all, the biggest advantage is that some inventors are using technology to improve the life of some patients with stroke or with diseases such as epilepsy.

On the one hand, scientists are developing portable sensors to accelerate the recovery of stroke patients which can send information to doctors continuously. They look like little white strips, but they send information to their medical team. This technology can place sensors in the body to know which muscle groups work or not really. Therefore, after knowing the areas affected by the stroke, doctors can focus the therapies to improve those problems. In addition, the sensors continue to send information even after the patient has finished their exercises. This means that their doctors can monitor their progress at home.
The goal of scientists is to have a large number of electronic products in a small flexible material to make the patient feel comfortable for a long time. In addition, they think that their study could transform the way patients are treated in the future.

On the other hand, Epilepsy is the most common serious brain disorder and affects about 50 million people worldwide. Thanks to technology, instead of being connected to a machine through cables, patients can wear a T-shirt and a cap if they want when they are at home. This smart clothing will make biometric sensors send information to a smartphone application. In this way, a firm diagnosis can be reached in a few days or weeks instead of potential years.

In addition, OMsignal manufactures a range of smart exercise clothing with biometric sensors that measure performance and is designed to be washed regularly. In addition, in recent years there has been debate about the possibility of inventing a bra to detect breast cancer. This would take dynamic thermal measurements which will record the differences in body temperature and that will be analyzed later to find tumors.

To sum up, the technology has many advantages and disadvantages but I think it has more advantages because it can improve the quality of life of many people.

On the one hand, with our mobile phone we can know lots of things, and if we have a special watch, which is connect to our phone, we can have a follow-up of our steps, the distance we walk...Also this object can take the tension and pulse this data is stored and for people who has heart problems, this is so useful because the doctor can work better with them.

On the other hand, there are people who has memory problems, and this type of technology can help us because as it's connected the alarms also sound on the watch, and this person do not forget nothing about what he have to do or what he have to take.

To sum up, I think that technology help us a lot because it improves our life and and we have more comforts and more access to different things.

Thanks to technology, some inventors have created wearable tech to improve the life of stroke patients or with other diseases related with the brain.

Sensors are placed on the body to find out which muscles are working properly and which are not. In this way, the sensors can identify the affected areas to make therapies that help improve those problems. Moreover, sensors are able to send information to doctors continuously. In fact, this new technology is very comfortable because they allow doctors to learn about what patients are doing from their houses.

Just as sensors help stroke patients, experts have developed a T-shirt that epilepsy patients can wear at home. This shirt can send information to a mobile phone application and record the brain´s electronic activity. This way, doctors find it easier to have a diagnosis in a matter of days.

To sum up, technology can improve our lives and make us feel comfortable, especially in patients with diseases related with the brain.

  30. The advancement of technology has led us to a new way of supervising our own health, it is "wearable technology", and over the last five years it has become increasingly common. Not only do sport professionals use it to track their health , but also ordinary people and people with many types of disabilities. Some of these light-weight machines are also quite affordable, for instance, you can find watches with many useful functions for prices of around 30 euros.

These watches have many options which allow you to keep an eye on your heart rate (that helps you detect any kind of irregularities), they also count your steps while walking and motivate you be more active in order to prevent a sedentary lifestyle, and they track your sleep. Furthermore they analyze all the data and give you feedback every day about your activity and overall health.

Moreover, this tech has many more uses, these little clocks can be highly useful for people with Alzheimer, as they can set alarms with the certainty that they'll see them everyday ,as they'd be wearing it. Also other kinds of wearable like sensors which can help people who suffer a stroke recover more rapidly, or clothing which can detect changes in cellular temperature to detect tumors earlier.

To sum up, technology is taking a major role in health, it can not only help us to recover from a disease but also prevent us from it.
