BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  3. To begin with, I would like to say that a couch potato is a person who watchs TV all the day without doing other things. Nowadays, there are more people who don't want to go out because there are new series or new programmes which are very funny and entertaining as Netflix.

I think that I am not a couch potato because I don't watch TV so much. I like doing other activites much more as playing football or playing my tube instead of watching TV. Moreover, I believe that many information of TV is a lie although the majority of people think that all that mass media sell us is true.

If the people want to be a healthy life is better that they start to watch TV less. I would recommend that the people who suffer this problem, started to practice some sports twice a week at least to improve their lifes. One advice is that all the hours losed watching TV should be changed for many hours studying or reading a book because is the best form to improve the capacity of our brain.

To sum up, I would like that this world with many couches potatoes changed for another world with more people who wanted to go out with their friends. I think that it is possible, but if everyone try to improve their lifes and they stop living in a world controlled by the TV.

    1. First of all, I would like to say that a couch potato is a person who watches a lot of television and does not have an active life. From my point of view, the number of this kind of people has increased over the years.

I wouldn’t consider myself a couch potato as I hardly ever watch televion. However, when I am not doing homework, studying or hanging out with my friends I spend a lot of hours on social media, chatting with my friends or listening to music.

It is an open secret that almost everybody wants to be healthy and get fit, but they are too lazy for that, owing to this fact a bunch of websites give pieces of advice such as: follow some people on social media that will inspire you to get active, keep a workout calendar and track your progress and create a playlist with awesome songs.

To conclude, I would like to add that more and more children are becoming “couch potatos” due to the new technology. I reckon that parents shouldn’t provide their kids with mobiles and that a good way to keep healthy is joining sport clubs like swimming, football or tennis.

“Wellness” is the noun that comes from the adjetive “well”.

  7. There are lots of persons like the couch potato. These persons watch TV all the time and usually they are in bad physicals conditions. I don't see much the TV, but I do spots like: football, basketball, softcombat... If I watched TV (wich is not the case) I would try to find a specialist, so he can see my condition and help me fix it.
The video is very interesting (like all) and it helps me to learn more about the verb to have.

  8. Do you spend a lot of time in front of the TV?
It is a big problem because you can become a couch potato and you can even lose your friends, as well as your social life. When you haven't any friends or social life you can try to commit suicide. In my opinion I think that a couch potato should spend more time outdoors and meet friends.

  10. A couch potato is a person who sees too much television, these types of people prefer to spend hours and hours at home watching whatever they broadcast on television that day than going out for a walk with their friends.
Spending more than an hour sitting in front of the TV every night or sitting in front of the TV and letting time pass without registering is a problem. Watching TV for a while every day is fine, what is not right is doing it for a long time.

Some intellectuals have established that television is an evil that prevents human beings from relating to each other, a means that closes the door to reflection and that has become a kind of collective conscience that guides us to define the good and bad around public affairs. Television induces the individual to a state similar to hypnosis, this is very common among couples, since the presence of the other is ignored and usually complain about it when saying that her husband does not listen while watching a series or sport. In the case of children, it is the same: parents despair and shout at their children to eat, do homework, bathe or dress, but boys do not really hear.

On the other hand, spending many hours in front of the TV can cause health problems,
depression, spending several hours watching television could cause depression problems because people are kept in a state of isolation and loneliness, obesity, heart disease or eyestrain, etc. As we already see spending too many hours in front of a television only brings problems.

I do not consider myself a couch potato, I could spend days and days without watching television, and I only remember her when I have free time and I'm bored, watching TV seems secondary to me, unimportant and only keeps me entertained for a while, because every day the programs that emit are worse and all the programs are copies of others.

  12. To begin with, what is a couch potato? It is a slang word to call a person who spends too much time watching TV. As I see it, I am not a couch potato because I go to the gym and I don’t spend all day watching TV, mainly since I have no time. Although, if I was one I would ask my friends or family for help, for example I would ask my sister to work out together.

It is a fact that everybody loves spending time in the sofa watching their favourite series. Nowadays there are lots of platforms which provide us with a great amount of series and films as Nextlix or Movistar+. By the way, I like watching Hawaii 5.0, NCIS Los Angeles and The Walking Dead in my free time.

Futhermore, I love watching films, as well. I prefer the romantic ones. My favourite actors are Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum and Chris Hemsworth. I really like all of their films, especially The Notebook, in which Ryan appears. However, what I like the most is watching the famous reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians.

To conclude, I think that people are really into series, that is to say, that they spend time doing nothing; but it is a real fact that some people are more and more into doing some exercise. It may be due to people who are extremely concerned about their image, so they have to work hard to fit their bodies. I think the best idea is to eat well and do some exercise. If you don’t want to go to the gym because you are afraid of feeling lonely, you can always ask a friend to come with you.

  17. Nowadays new technologies have improved our lives, but they have also created new addictions, including addiction to television.

To begin with, the televión has evolved a lot during the last decades. Not only do we have a wide variety of channels with programs of all types including the series that hook us, but we can also watch international channels with the current satellite dishes without forgetting that Smart TV offers the possibility of watching programs by connecting to the Internet. It seems impossible to get bored because we have TV on demand to choose what we want to see and what time. This makes us have all the leisure we want without leaving our house throughout the day and also the night.

On the one hand, being all day watching TV has great disadvantages that harm us physically, since we don't do any sports and also psychologically, because it creates an addiction in which you can't stop watching the series or program that both you like. On the other hand, people also need to do outdoor activities, have social life with friends ...

In conclusion, I reckon that we should know how to divide the time we spend watching TV from the time we have to do anything without forgetting to do physical exercise that is good for our physical and mental health.

  19. What is a couch potato? It is a person who spend a lot of time watching television because they are probably addicted to it. And as a consequence they don’t have an active life since they prefer to stay at home regarding series or films rather than going out with friends to do any exercise.

This people usually are very lazy as they don’t want to do anything, they only want to lie on the sofa for all the day. They can easily have health problems such as obesity because they don’t want to play any sport, which is a good way to get fitter since you have fun as you can play with friends at the same time that you are doing physical exercise. They probably don’t do sport since they have never practice any sports and they think it is boring.

As for solutions, I think that friends of a couch potato should show them that doing sport is not boring and insist them to take up a sport. For instance, if all of them like football they can take part of a football team in the city where they live. By doing so, the couch potato will need to go training some days and he will be less dependent on television.

Personally, I think that I am not a couch potato since I don’t like much watching TV, I prefer going out with my friends for walking, hanging out or playing football. If I had a friend who were a couch potato, I would encourage him to stop watching television for all the day and going out with friends.

  24. This term refers to a person who spends a lot of time watching TV, lying on the cough, and in general, this persons have a very sedentary life.

Nowadays there are a lot of people that we can include in this group, because each day there are more people who prefer staying at home watching wathever in TV, like films or series, tan people who prefer go out with Friends, do sport...

This habit, with other, can provocate health problems, because they are out of shape and they have weight problems, so they can be obesity problems by the simple fact of speng long hours in front of TV.

I do not belong to this group, because I do not watch TV so much, only around half an hour a day, normaly when I have dinner. Besides, I prefer meet with my friends or do sport outside.

  25. A couch potato is a person who watches much TV. I don't watch much television because I'm very busy doing homework or doing sport because I think that's better and healthier.

If you watch too much TV you can get weight and that's something bad because it can affect yo your health. If you do sport and you eat healthy food like fruit ore vegetables you can lose weight and you can stay fit. I watch only half an hour a day ore sometimes I don't watch it at all. I'm always doing sport because I think is healthy for me and I also think that if you do sport you won't get weight and you'll be fit.

Nowadays most of the people don't do sport and spend most of his time watching TV or playing video games. I think that they should go out and do some sport because it's healthier than staying at home for the hole day. They will lose weight and they will be healthy.

In fact, I think that's ok to watch sometimes TV and play video games but you also have to go out to do some sport and meet your friends. So remember, don't stay too much time at home and go out and stay fit!
