BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  1. Can you imagine a future where there isn't need at all have an International Women's Day? Where there is equality for men and women?

For thousands of years, women have been denied their rights. They have been always given the role of being the weak, the housewife who must stay at home and take care of the children, they weren't expected to work out of the house. So, women began fighting for equal opportunities just as men. In 1848, about three hundred people came together at Seneca Falls. This meeting was the start of a fight that would drag on for years. Their first step was the fight for the right to vote, which began in 1840, and finally, they got it.

Furthermore, they were denied of education, a woman only was allowed to get a primary level. Neither women were allowed to work in any kind of job. A lot of films are based on this discrimination, whose main goal is to show us the brutalities that had been always a current topic.
Consequently, to "be seen" as a weak person, lots of women have been raped and killed by men. For that, in our days there's a phone number to contact and ask for help if you're in a violence case.

All in all, I'd like to point out that women gave always played an important role in the development of history. We have to go on fighting to get a real equality. With effort and all together all can be got.

  2. I have always wondered why do we celebrate “The day against gender violence” on November 25? The reason that why we celebrete this day on November 25 is because in this date in 1960 in Latin America three sisters were murdered by order of the dictates Rafael Leónidas Trujillo because they were against his dictatorship. Since 1981 Latin America celebrate this day in their honor and Europe since 1999.

Since ever women had always have to fight for their rights, because they were considered less than men. They were not allowed to be educated, to get a job and other things that would be allowed to a man. During years we have moved towards a more egalitarian society, because for example before Christ the society thought that women were a natural defect.

There a lot of women who have fighted for their rights like Concepción Arenal, who was born in 1820 in La Coruña, she studied law at the Central University of Madrid when it wasn’t still allowed for women to study. It was with her when feminism was born in Spain. Other example is Clara Campomar, who was born in Madrid in 1888, is one of the great figures of the struggle for the equal rights of women. She created the Feminine Republican Union in Spain.

To sum up, we are in the 21st century and from my point of view gender violence or other violence would not have to exist. We should not be accustomed that on television appear news like “This week a man has killed his wife” or “He has beaten his girlfriend to death”.

  3. Would we need an International Day to stop Violence Against Women if there wasn't any violence? Obviously not.

According to Amnesty International, 1 on 3 women will be raped, abused or beaten in her lifetime. This is such a high fugure as almost half of all women in the world could suffer this kind of violence.

The day against gender violence is celebrated on 25th November, since in 1990 in Latin America three sisters were murdered by order of the dictator Leónidas, because they were against his dictatorship. Since then, America started to celebarte this day and few time later Europe also started to celebrate it.

Every day we can see in the news girls who have been mistreated by their boyfriends or even, women who has been murdered by their husbands. Today lots of men treat women as they want. They say to them what they have to do, how they have to dress, who they can talk to or where they can or can't go. This is so terrible! The further we were from these people, the better for all of us.

Currently, we carry on fighting for women rights as, although there is much more equality between men and women, there is still some inequality. For instance, in a same work, men charge more money than women. Moreover, there are certain works that are exclusive for men, which I consider a nonsense.

  5. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is the day that governments or organisations raise public awareness of violence against women. It has been celebrated on 25th November since the year 2000, since in 1999, the UNO declared every 25th November as International Day for the Elimination of the Violence against the Woman.

Why did they choose that day? In Latin America, where there are the highest rates of violence against the woman, three sisters were murdered the 25th November 1960 because of an order of the dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo. The three sisters are named Minerva, Patria y María Teresa Mirabal.
There are many types of violence against women, for example, they suffer harassment at work, since they have offers of minor quality and occupy fewer positions of decision than the men. The women are also used as an object to bandage something in advertising.

In conclusion, the international day of the woman is an important day to remember the fight of many women heroines who gave their lives for the rights of the women. It is not one day to celebrate as a party. On this day the men should reflect about the historical mistreatment that women have suffered on the part of the man.The woman must remember that she is not to wash plates and to live through the whole life in the kitchen and to accept the mistreatment machist, must think that it is an important part of the society in equality of conditions that the man and she must make be worth these rights. The woman on this day must join with other women and demand these rights from the man.

  6. 25th of November is the international Day against violence against women.

In that violence it is included harrassment at work, being used as objects in publicity, and, of course domestic violence and sexism.

Although currently there is more equality between men and women in many fields camps. We still have a lot of things to improve.

  7. On the one hand women have long been considered weaker than men. Almost always people are surprised to see women working in a position where we have always seen a man, for example a trucker, mechanic, etc., has rarely been seen, but both women and men can work in the same post.

Some comments like "women don't know how to drive" I see it absurd, there are many men who don't know how to drive and give them permission.

On the other hand, today, a rising number of women are being reported in the news, who are murdered by their husbands. Although the government launches campaigns every year to combat this type of violence, reality shows that this type of violence is a very important problem.

I reckon sexim lives with us every day and I believe that the only way to end it is an education with good moral values in schools and secondary school.

  9. We live in a world where we are made to believe many things that are not true, in this case the fact that there is equality between men and women. And this is not true since in the last analysis done in Spain, women charge 20% less than men doing the same jobs, and that the difference increases if they are more important jobs. Then why are they trying to make us see that there is equality when there is not? And not only in the case of employment, in the day to day we can see as if a man does something is well seen however if it does a woman is qualified with pejorative adjectives and is very frown.

Just as if a woman does a job of "men" is already devalued just for the simple fact of being a woman. We also see how the number of victims of sexist violence increases more and more. Also men can dress as they want however a woman is labeled certain things by the way they dress.

From my point of view, there has been some progress in the attempt to achieve equality between men and women, but it can not be said that there is equality because there is no equality, and we must blame society because it hypocritically criticizes inequality but does nothing because there is an equality between men and women, they are responsible for criticizing whether women dress in one way, or do jobs that they think only men can do.

  10. the 25th of november is the international day against violence against women. Is a day for support the woman, in their fight against abuse. Mistreatment at women is a serious problem because I don´t think that a women must be mistreated. We are all the same (men and women). Every day there is more violence against the women and for this there are a help number. All of us must help to the women is this fight, and help to report to the abusers.

The most common form of violence experienced by women is the physical violence inflicted by the boyfriend, including women beaten, forced to have sex, etc. There are trafficking in women, female genital mutilation, dowry murder, "honor killings", sexual violence in conflicts, etc.

So there are violence with the men, but this case are less common in the life. Even so, must be report, because the people have right to be free.

  11. Many times we watch in the news that women are die for violence against them. Many of them don´t talk anything of this violence because they are scared.

Machist men think that they are superior to the women because they are stronger and they have a voice more grave. The society learn us it. For example it learn it when we are children although advertisements where girls must play with baby dolls or kitchen´s games and the boys must play to sport games, violence games, …

Then, the society learn us that women need to work in care baby and do domestic things and men need to work in important jobs where they have many money for their family.

I think that the society is so mistake because women are so intelligent than men but men have more opportunities than women.

Women have always been considered an inferior gender, so they have always had to fight for their rights, since before they were not allowed to drive, work outside the home, etc. Little by little things have been equalized with respect to the male gender, but there are still things to change.

What does not seem right to me is the way some women demonstrate, for example when they undress in front of the police with banners, because it is not a way to ask for rights and neither do the agents have to see that, and the worst thing is They don't say anything to them or they don't sanction them, I think that if it were the men who undressed, they would have a sanction.

  13. Violence against women is one of society’s biggest problems. It is unacceptable that nowadays there are still women being murdered just for simply be women.

Governments must take big responsibility in this topic. The inequality that women suffer everyday is not something easy to delete, but governments have to do everything that is in their power to fight this problem, for example, they can create harder laws for criminals and preventive solutions for victims.

However, education is the best option to fight against this. We have to educate our new generations in equality and teach old people too. The problem with violence against women is not easy to resolve, but if we all understand how bad it is and start to think in equality, in the future we could get a healthy society. Schools will need to collaborate with feminist groups that will show the children the history of feminism and its importance.

To sum up, I think that feminism is the solution for violence against women. People should learn feminism and practice it everyday, not only in the 25th of November. It is important too that we give security to victims of this violence, for they will not be attack by their abuser.
