BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Deleting memories

When we we hear aged people, especially grandparents, it seems that the world used to be great and everything was wonderful. Is it really true? What does human brain do with good and bad memories?

By the way, what is the difference between 'memory' and 'souvenir'?
And what do these phrases really mean?
  • remember to do someting
  • remember doing something
  • remind someone to do something
Can you write some sentences?

Here's a good listening exercise to do:   Deleting memories  and an article to read:

  1. When aged people speak hat the world used to be great, I think it is true because some years ago people enjoy more the life, for exaple, chlidren went out for play with their friends on the street. However, nowadays with the technology children prefer stay at home chating with their friends and playing computer games. The technology isn't so bad, it has much adventages, but now the advantages and disadvantages of technology isn't the theme.

What the human brain does with the memory is it deletes the bad memories and keeps the good memories. If the human brain doen't delete bad memories, we'll be embittered, so to speak. Although not all the bad memories are forgotten. People wonder if there is a pill to forget bad memories and there are some investigation for discovered how we can forget some memories.

There is a difference between memory and souvenir and it is that memory is he process in which information is encoded, stored, and retrieved and souvenir is an object a person acquires for the memories the owner associates with it.

In conclusion, the human brain is very complex and it does things wonderful, the memory is a quality of brain and is very important to us. Each information is saved in a different place in the brain so there are things that we want but we cann't forget.

  3. Do you imagine you can delete your negative, sad and unpleasant memories? Today it is possible.

Memory allows us to store and recuperate information that we process in our day to day.

When we experience something a neuronal connection is created in our brain, and when that experience is more traumatic or painful, more connections occur.

Memories are the film that we build with the images and feelings that we have stored in our memory.

Really do we need to delete bad memories? I don't think so, many of our negative memories make us be like we are are in fact we don't want to delete them. Moreover, the negative experiences help us to make decisions in the future about important things.

From my point of view, I think that memories should only be used to delete traumas, since the rest of negative memories define us like people, they serve as a reference and help us in our continuous improvement.

We usually remember the good times before the bad ones, because we want or in an unconscious way, but before, life was harder, with more lacks and sorrows.
